Black Horse Cottage is a cosy cottage in the middle of Tetbury. Equally close to restaurants, cafes, and shops as it is to the stunning countryside. Within sight of St Mary’s church (with one of the tallest spires in the UK), you can be walking in the hills within minutes of leaving the front door. Tetbury has many excellent restaurants and pubs.

We are in a perfect location if you want some peace and quiet or if you are looking for a space to enjoy your friends and family. Our location is perfect for those attending a wedding nearby and we can help you arrange your transport. We are child friendly with books, games and movies inside for relaxing.

There are many walks to enjoy from the cottage where you will experience the natural beauty of The Cotswolds.

Ground floor:

On entering the property you will find a cosy sitting room with an open fire, dining table with seating for 4 persons (extends to seat 6), TV, Freeview and Netflix. You’ll find a fully equipped kitchen which contains a microwave, fridge, freezer, toaster, kettle, electric cooker and ceramic hob.

There is a utility room with a new washing machine and dryer.

The cottage has a side passage and utility room for muddy bikes and boots, and a spacious patio from where you can see the church spire.

First floor:

Double bedroom with king sized bed, chest of drawers and hooks to hang your clothes

Double bedroom with double bed, built in wardrobe and full length mirror

Bathroom with bath, shower, basin and WC

Small office room with a desk/chair. This room is suitable for a baby cot.

We provide a starter pack for the wood stove. This includes a bag of wood, kindling, firelighters and matches. The pack is available during Sept – March inclusive. Outside of these months, guests will need to provide all of their own fuel for the stove as there is nowhere to purchase fuel locally during this period.

The cottage is entirely yours whilst you are staying there.

Tetbury is world-renowned for its unique Royal associations. Highgrove, home of HRH The Prince of Wales is situated just outside Tetbury, and Gatcombe Park, home of the Princess Royal is also nearby.

Surrounded by beautiful farmland and wild flowered meadows, and ancient woodland, Tetbury is an ideal self-catering base for Gloucestershire walking or driving holidays, and is well-positioned for visiting the beautiful villages of the Cotswolds, and towns such as Bath and Cirencester.

There is an abundance of antique shops and markets. We are spoilt for choice of where to eat…from cosy country pubs, fabulous restaurants and Manor houses a short drive away.

Transport options include Kemble train station, just 10 minutes drive away, which is on the express line to London Paddington. Bus services run through Tetbury to other famous Cotswold villages and towns such as Malmesbury and Cirencester.
Parking is available directly outside the property on the road or there is a car park 2 mins walk away. The carpark is free from 3pm to 8am.
